Meet
Krista Connor
Thank you for your interest in hiring me to propel your social media pages to the next level!
A little about me:
I have more than 12 combined years of experience as a social media content director, journalist, travel writer, magazine editor, photographer and artist.
I’ve written social media content for more than 100 businesses, from mom-and-pop pizza shops to brands like Embassy Suites, Body Glide and the product design developers for L’Oreal, Maybelline and Johnson & Johnson.
Meanwhile, my journalism work, travel writing and photography have been featured by international award-winning publications including AFAR Magazine, CARA Magazine, tourism boards and more.
I love spending time with family and my dog Hugo, along with ‘90s movie nights with friends, traveling, film photography, painting for fun with watercolors, decorating, exploring cozy local towns, and being a faux homesteader by making my own beeswax candles and dreaming of lazy picnics in wildflower-drenched meadows.
What sets my work apart?
Me:
▪️ No-fluff writing! My 10+ years of experience in the journalism field instilled in me an unparalleled attention to detail. I know how to scope out the facts and angles while writing engaging, thoroughly-proofed content.
▪️ I’m in a unique position because I couple my journalism background with my social media and communications experience.
▪️ I can write in just about any tone of voice. Looking for a down-to-earth, colloquial voice with a touch of humor? I can do that! Prefer a polished, professional tone? I’ve got it covered.
▪️ My approach: I will establish your brand as an authority in your industry with curated content (industry news, resources, tips, etc.) and original posts (thought leadership and educational content inspired by your goals, services, etc.). I prefer informative, long-form writing over short-form, though a mix of both is usually ideal. I make content eye-catching with emojis, easy-to-digest lists, etc.
Them:
▪️ Many social media writers lack the background, education, experience and unique skills required to do a quality job. I know this first-hand. As a content director, I’ve had to shuffle through dozens of candidates, and 9 out of 10 have not come close to meeting my standards.
▪️ I’ve encountered social media management agencies that charge clients $3,000 and up for mediocre, churned-out content that lacks quality, personality and tone of voice — likewise, I’ve seen the disturbing results of “just $99 per month” canned content that hurts engagement/presence.
▪️ On average, outsourced social writing consists of bland, generic, unedited, and brusque one-liners — often duplicated word-for-word from similar clients’ work. And even worse, now that ChatGPT has entered the scene, soulless AI-generated content is the norm.
